Royal Rajasthan - Unforgettable Memories
Dear friends,
As a passionate IT enthusiast, I always wanted to blog, but not on
the core IT topics. I preferred to write on my travel experience. I am a person
who travels more than 30% of my time for work but there is nothing great to
share my work-related travel experience, however after a long research I have
decided to visit Rajasthan on a personal vacation and hence sharing some of my
travel experience, route and photograph for your future reference. FYI, I have
recently started trying my hands with Nikon D3300 hope you will like some of my
clicks.
Season:
· I have chosen 21-27th Oct 2017 post Diwali which
is a pleasant climate. Even though the temperature outside is 33-34 degrees
during the day it is pleasant to walk while sightseeing because of cold breeze.
Which route to decide?
·
After a long research, I have decided to start
my journey form Jaipur because of its better connectivity with Bangalore and considering
this being a capital city most facilities like cabs etc can be easily
organized.
· Decided route:
· Jaipur (Day1) à Pushkar(Day2) à
Jodhpur (Day2) à
Jaisalmer (Day3)à
Udaipur(Day4,5) à
Chitorgarh (Day5) à
Delhi à
Bangalore
Hotel Bookings:
·
I have chosen “Goibibo.com” as my partner to
make all stay and travel bookings. Key reason why I did this is because they
not only offer best rate and publish official photographs of hotel but also
allow users to post actual photographs which gives fair idea of property.
·
Today is my 2nd day of the trip and experience
so far is amazing. I have chosen following places and uploading some of the
photographs of these locations:
o
Umaid
Bhawan Jaipur: Fairly nice heritage hotel, not sure if the building itself is
old and heritage but it seems like you are liking in a ‘mahal’ with all the
modern facilities. Most liked thing about the hotel is its ambience, roof top bar
and restaurant in which they also organize a folk music and dance show, (at
least we go to see this, not sure if this is available for all season all
time.) Service of hotel is also good. PS:
They also provide free pick-up and drop facility from Jaipur Airport or
Railway station. Cost Per Room Per Night: 3000-6000 INR depending upon the season and type of room you select.
o
Sharing some of the photographs of hotel room and
local places in and around Jaipur.
Day 1:
Places around Amber Fort
The Albert Hall Museum is a museum in Jaipur in Rajasthan, India. It is the oldest museum of the state and functions as the State museum of Rajasthan
Day 2
We have headed form Jaipur to Jodhpur covering Pushkar in the mid way. Pushkar is know to be a holy place for Hindus across the Globe having only temple of lord Brahma in the world. Sharing some of the pics:
Pushkar Ghat: Pushap (flower) + Kar (Hand). Aka a place where flower form the the hand of lord Bhrama has fallen.
Jodhpur: By the time we have reached jodhpur it was already 5:30 in the evening and we were not allowed to get inside the famous the Fort Mehrangadh (which still is partially, private owned property of the royal family of Jodhpur.) However, we could manage to see few monuments "Jaswant Thada which is a cenotaph located in Jodhpur, next to Fort Mehrangadh. It was built by Maharaja Sardar Singh of Jodhpur State in 1899 in memory of his father, Maharaja Jaswant Singh.
Sharing some of the pics of Jaswant Thada, city view and view of famous "Umaid Palace" from this place.
Hotel @ Jodhpur: Again thanks to goibibo.com, my needs of staying in a heritage hotel @ a descent budget has been meet. I have decided to stay @ "The Khoti Heritage" which is a 140 year old building owned by the 4th generation of 'Senapati' of Royal Jodhpur Army. Good part is that owner themselves welcomes you in the lobby of the hotel and makes you feel so warmly welcomed.
Building has been nicely done with a mix of modern facilities, good colourful lightings with antique collections of interior. PS: Family use to stay in this place 8 Years back so you can still feel the warms of their presence in the hotel.
I give 5 out of 5 for their service, food and ambience. Here are some of the photos in and around hotel room.
Day 3: We will be heading to Jaisalmer tomorrow and will keep you posted about the journey and pics.. stay tuned.. please like and comment.
